What’s the theme?

Running for Youth Empowerment, Climate Action, and the Elimination of GBV – it's a run for a better world.

Who is organizing the event?

The event is organized by the Joshua Cheptegei Development Foundation (JOCDEF) in partnership with UNDP.

 

COMMON QUESTIONS:

RACE CATEGORIES & ELIGIBILITY

    • 21KM (Half Marathon)

    • 10KM

    • 5KM (including a special category for PWDs)

    • 21KM: 6:30 AM

    • 10KM: 6:45 AM

    • 5KM: 7:00 AM

    • Start line and assembly area details will be shared ahead of the race.

    • 21KM and 10KM: Open to runners aged 18+

    • 5KM: Open to all. Runners under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.

    • All runners must be in good health and fit to run.

REGISTRATION & ENTRY

  • Register online through our official platform [insert link]. Your registration is confirmed once payment is received.

  • All entries are non-refundable and non-transferable.

  • Yes. Registration closes on October 20th, 2025, or once all slots are filled. Early registration is encouraged.

KIT PICK-UP

  • Kit pick-up locations and dates will be communicated closer to the race, both in Kampala and Mbale City.

  • Bring a valid ID and your payment receipt.

HYDRATION, SAFETY & MEDICAL

  • Yes – water stations will be available at the start, finish, and at 3–5KM intervals.

  • Ambulances and first aid teams will be stationed on the route and at the finish line. 

ENVIRONMENTAL COMMITMENT

  • We’re committed to clean running. Water bottles and waste bins will be provided – please dispose of waste responsibly and help us leave Mbale cleaner.

PRIZES & MEDALS

  • Yes! Cash prizes will be awarded for the top male and female runners in the 21KM and 10KM categories. All finishers will receive a medal.

PARKING & ACCESS

  • Designated parking will be available near the race venue. Arrive early and follow signage and security guidance. Parking is at your own risk.
